Abrakadoodle Art Camps

$150 Half day

Around the World
Grades 1 – 6
June 7 – 11 (1:15 – 4:15 p.m.)
Take a trip “Around the World” with Abrakadoodle using printing, sculpture, collage
and lots of color. Come with us as we visit Ecuador and make Beautiful Birds,
learn about the Festival Elephants of India, travel to the land of the snow bear
to create Inuit Bear art and then to the warmth of Mexico to create Sun Sculpture.
We tie it all together with Rainbow Hand art.

Dreaming of the Future Camp
Grades 1 – 6
June 14 – 18 (9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.)
If you’ve ever dreamed of being a super sleuth, super hero or heroine, race car
driver, architect or space explorer – this is the Abrakadoodle camp for you!
Follow the clues to create an artist’s sketch of the perpetrator. Learn about
fingerprinting and make your own special fingerprint art. Show your super
power in a photo illustration. There’s a little competition – and fun, as you
create and race your own race car. Put your imagination into overdrive as you
design a city for the future. Explore outer space while learning about the
Hubble Telescope. Build and name your own star! There will be future focused
games, music and a new adventure every day!

Great Big and Teeny Tiny Art
Ages 4 – 5 (9:15 a.m.– 12:15 p.m.)
Grades 1 – 6 (1:15 – 4:15 p.m.)
June 21 –25
It’s all about scale in this creative camp that will delight kids as they create art
that challenges dimensions – from enormous to miniature. Our creative ideas
flow as we learn about preserving our planet and create awe-inspiring globes
both big and small. We simulate glass sculpture like the modern artist Chihuly,
make neighborhood murals and even robots who will do our chores. There’s music,
games and more! We’re not a teeny, tiny bit shy about saying that this camp
promises big, gigantic, huge FUN!

Once upon a time
Grades 1 – 6
June 28 – July 2 (9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.)
Classic books such as Cinderella and The Three Little Pigs to contemporary
books such as Olivia, Curious George, Dr. Seuss, Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse, and
Goodnight Moon provide the inspiration for this fun filled art camp! We’ll read
these famous books and then do art projects to coordinate with each book as
we sculpt, paint, draw, collage, mix, mold and create. Along the way we’ll
make masks from Where the Wild Things Are.

If you give a kid a paint brush!

Grades 1 – 6; $112.50
July 6 – 9 (1:15 – 4:15 p.m.)
This exciting camp centers around the popular children’s book series, If You
Give A..., which features a mouse, a pig and a moose! Camps will make cookies from model magic, paint pigs, collage a moose, print, stamp, experiment with
watercolors and even paint on canvas board! If you give a child imaginative art
supplies, there’s no telling what he or she will create! Fueled by music, games
and fun activities, children’s imaginations are sure to go wild!

Art Rocks!
Grades 1 – 6
July 12 – 16 (9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.)
The stage is set for rock artists everywhere! Art Rocks combines fun music and
energetic art for a wildly creative adventure. Campers will make musical
instruments, learn about rhythm and create some music of their own!
They’ll design a poster promoting a concert, as well as a unique label for a
new CD. These rock artists will create their own rock art, design mystifying
paintings to music and try their hand at melodic action painting. So come
into the spotlight for a rocking good time!!

Crazy Cartoon Art
Grades 1 – 6
July 19 – 23 (1:15 – 4:15 p.m.)
Abrakadoodle takes cartooning to a whole new level by incorporating cartooning
into the creative process. Campers learn the art of cartooning, including imagining
and sketching animals and characters, designing spacecraft and preparing
animation cels and discovering the creative process for comic strips.
With games, music and activities sure to please, this cartoon camp is sure
to leave campers grinning ear-to-ear!

Castles and Dragons
Ages 4 – 5 (9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.)
Grades 1 – 6 (1:15 – 4:15 p.m.)
July 26 – 30
Have fun while using a variety of art techniques and materials to explore the
world of “Castles and Dragons.” First we make our own Castles using basic
shapes, square, triangle, rectangle and circle. We make Royal Puppets to live in
our castles with a variety of materials. Next, we protect our castles when we
create a Dragon using basic folding, gluing and cutting techniques that allow
our dragons to dance and move. Then we all get into the spirit as we make a
Crown, tiara, knight’s helmet or jester’s hat. And we finish with a Banner to fly
over the castle using our paints to print designs

ZooDoodle Safari
Grades 1 – 6
August 2 – 6 (1:15 – 4:15 p.m.)
Lions and tigers and snakes, oh my! Create jungle cats, monkeys, elephants and
more when you go on this adventure. We’ll make safari art with paints, modeling
materials and wild animal print papers. During camp we’ll even create pictures
of your awesome adventure so you don’t forget about the fun games, sing-alongs,
and the animal stories that you learned through your exploration.
